Newark Trusted Water Heater (newarktrustedwaterheater.com) is a free quote-request service for water heater work in Newark and Essex County, New Jersey. It passes your request to a local company that does the work; it does not do the work itself. This page says what the site collects, why, and who sees it.
What the quote form collects
The same form appears in the pop-up on every page and on the contact page. Everything it sends is listed here, in the order the form asks for it.

- So the company quoting knows who it is talking to.
- Best phone number
- So the company quoting can reach you about the job and the price.
- Town or ZIP
- So the request goes to a company that works where you live.
- Email (optional)
- A second way to reach you, if you give one.
- What do you need? (optional)
- The kind of job you picked: a replacement, a repair, tankless, heat pump, or not sure.
- What is going on with it?
- Your description of the heater and the problem, which is what the quote is based on.
- Add photos (optional)
- Any pictures you attach, usually the heater and its rating label, kept in private storage and shown to the company quoting.
- The page you sent it from
- Filled in by the page itself, not by you: the address of the page the form was on.
What is recorded with each request
When a request arrives, three things your browser sends with it are stored alongside it: your IP address, the browser's own description of itself (its user-agent string) and the address of the page it was sent from. They are used to tell real requests from automated spam.
Before a request goes through, a check run by Cloudflare, called Turnstile, looks at the browser to tell a person from an automated script. It adds a one-time code to the request, which this site hands back to Cloudflare to confirm and does not store. Cloudflare's own policy covers what that check collects.
Who sees it
Your request goes to the local water heater company it is passed to, so that it can contact you and quote. The people who run this site see it too, because they pass it on and deal with anything that goes wrong.
Three companies handle it along the way, because the site runs on their services. Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the spam check, Supabase holds the database and the private storage your photos go into, and Resend sends the email that tells the people who run the site that a request has arrived.
Page visits
The site counts its own visits, without an outside analytics service. When a page opens, a short script served from this domain sends four things:
- That a page was opened. It is the only kind of event the script reports.
- Which page it was, as the part of the address after the domain (for example /towns/bloomfield/), with anything after a question mark dropped.
- The domain name of the website that linked you here, when your browser passes it on. Never the page on that site, and never anything you searched for.
- How many pixels wide your browser window is, which is how the site knows whether it is being read on phones or on larger screens.
The site's server adds what it can already see in the request for the page: your browser's user-agent string, the rough location and network operator that Cloudflare reads from your connection, which Cloudflare data centre answered, Cloudflare's label if it recognises a known crawler, whether the page loaded, and the time.
Your IP address is used once, to make a code from the address, the date and a secret value, so that two visits on the same day can be counted as one visitor. The code cannot be turned back into the address and changes every day, and the address itself is not kept with the visit.
Phone calls
This service has no phone line today, so no calls are received and none are recorded. If a number is added, it will be a voicemail box with a greeting that announces the recording, and this section will then list what a voicemail keeps and who hears it.
How long it is kept, and what you can ask for
Requests are kept so that a quote can be followed up. To see what is held about you, to correct it, or to have your request and its photos deleted, send a message through the form on the contact page saying what you want, with the same name and phone number you used before.
Changes to this page
When what the site collects or who sees it changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. The terms of use cover what the service does and does not promise.
